Meta to block teen app usage at night, impose 2-hour daily limit

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has agreed to block teenagers from using its apps at night and to impose a default two-hour daily limit on their usage across its platforms. The measures are part of a $16.7 billion settlement with US states over allegations that Meta deliberately designed its platforms to be addictive to young users and misled the public about the risks. The settlement also addresses claims of unlawfully collecting data from children under 13.
