Otti: No More ‘Somebody’s Friend’ Appointments in Abia

Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti has declared that merit, competence, and integrity will be the sole criteria for appointments and recruitments in his administration, ending the era of 'somebody's friend' or 'somebody's wife' appointments. He made this statement during the Abia State Leadership Academy Executive Leadership Series for political appointees and senior public servants at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, as part of Abia's 35th anniversary. The programme, themed 'Strengthening Government Ethical Leadership and Public Service Delivery,' focused on building institutions and preparing a new generation of leaders. Governor Otti also launched a 25-year development plan for the state.
