Africa commits to three million more health workers by 2035

African health ministers have endorsed the Africa Health Workforce Agenda 2026–2035, committing to plan, educate, employ, and retain three million additional health workers by 2035. The decision was made at a WHO meeting, reflecting a continental effort to address health workforce shortages. This initiative is expected to significantly improve healthcare delivery across Africa.
