The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is set to contest the upcoming local government election in Anambra State unopposed in 20 of the 21 local government areas, as opposition parties failed to field candidates. The only contest is in Anambra East, where the Young Progressives Party (YPP) is challenging the incumbent. Governor Chukwuma Soludo attributed the lack of opposition to their assessment that challenging APGA would be a waste of resources, citing his 73% victory in the 2025 governorship election.
