Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has described the Rural Area Mobile Connectivity (RAMCO) project as the best thing to happen to Nigeria's electricity sector. The Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) stated that RAMCO will unlock fresh capital for sustainable renewable assets. The Federal Government targets generating up to 6,500 megawatts of electricity by the end of the year.
