Ugandan legislators have directed the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board to strengthen regulation of gaming activities, warning that unlicensed operators are exploiting rural communities. Members of Parliament on the Committee of Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) tasked the Board to intensify licensing, monitoring, and enforcement. Kalungu County West MP, Hon. Joseph Ssewungu, noted that foreign nationals have established gaming businesses in rural areas where enforcement is weak.
