The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has threatened to export excess petrol stocks due to rising imports creating uncertainty around domestic demand and making inventory planning difficult. The refinery reported that imported Premium Motor Spirit accounted for approximately 43% of fuel supplied into the Nigerian market in July, despite its capacity to meet and exceed domestic demand. This situation has prompted the refinery to consider exporting its surplus production.
