A new study has proposed a targeted approach for colorectal cancer screening in Nigeria, where most patients are diagnosed after the disease has advanced. Researchers studied over 2,000 adults across six Nigerian hospitals and identified five factors associated with colorectal cancer: family history of cancer, adult height, and body mass index, among others. The findings could help develop a roadmap for more effective screening programs in the country.
