Olukoyede: Over $500m Cash, Assets Forfeited to FG in Three Years

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has revealed that the commission secured the forfeiture of cash and assets worth over $500 million to the Federal Government within three years. He made this disclosure during a lecture at the Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime in the United Kingdom. Olukoyede attributed the success to Nigeria's legal framework, which allows the agency to seek forfeiture of assets suspected to be proceeds of crime without a criminal conviction. He noted that the framework is similar to those in other jurisdictions.
