The Federal Government has requested the Benin-Asaba Expressway Concession Company (BAECC) to allow it to bring in a competent contractor to complete the road project. Minister of Works David Umahi made the appeal at a stakeholders' meeting, citing the concessionaire's lack of technical expertise and manpower. He stated that the government would terminate the contract if BAECC fails to comply, as the current work is substandard.
