Nwankwo: No Need to Rush State Police Bill Passage Before 2027 Polls

Clement Nwankwo, Executive Director of the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre, has expressed concerns about preparations for the 2027 general elections, the creation of state police, and the Special Seats Bill before the 10th National Assembly. He emphasized the importance of the National Assembly delivering on its promise to amend portions of the Constitution that citizens have asked to be amended. Nwankwo noted that it is three years into the 10th National Assembly, with only a few more months to go, and Nigerians would be greatly disappointed if the assembly does not deliver on its promises. He specifically highlighted the Special Seats Bill as one area of concern.
