Nvidia has agreed to acquire Hugging Face, a platform often described as the GitHub for open-source AI models, for $12.9 billion. The deal is reportedly about 80 times Hugging Face's forward revenue. According to The Information, the acquisition talks began after another suitor showed interest in the startup. Salesforce, which is an investor in Hugging Face, was also involved in the discussions.
