Architect Labs, a startup founded last year, claims to have used artificial intelligence to design and verify a chip called Redwood in just two weeks, a process that typically takes a year or more and costs hundreds of millions of dollars. The company says two human chip architects set the overall plan while AI handled the detailed design work, and an AI model running on the chip later found ways to improve it.
