Governor Umar A. Namadi of Jigawa State has paid tribute to the founding fathers, past leaders, traditional rulers, civil servants, and citizens for their contributions over the past 35 years. In a special anniversary message, he described the 35th anniversary as a historic moment of thanksgiving and reflection. Jigawa State was created on August 27, 1991, by the Federal Military Government under General Ibrahim Babangida, carved out of old Kano State with Dutse as its capital.
