Survivors of Nepal's devastating floods were airlifted to safety on Thursday, with helicopters landing frequently in Bidur's military cantonment. Customs agent Omkar Joshi, rescued from a hilltop in Timure, described the destruction, saying 'everything is finished' and that 'ninety percent' of the town's people were dead, swallowed by silt. He described the area as a 'giant graveyard' soaked in blood, with hundreds surviving by scrambling up slopes. The floods have caused widespread devastation across the region.
