WHO, Africa CDC declare Uganda Ebola outbreak over

The World Health Organisation and Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention declared Uganda's Ebola outbreak over after the country recorded 42 consecutive days without a new confirmed case. The 42-day period followed the discharge of Uganda's last Ebola patient on July 16, 2026. The declaration marks the end of the outbreak, which was contained through coordinated public health efforts.
