Resident doctors at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) have issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Lagos State Government, demanding the implementation of the Specialist Allowance for Grade Level 14 doctors and the payment of outstanding salary and promotion arrears. The doctors, under the Association of Resident Doctors, LASUTH (LASUTH-ARD), made the demand on Thursday while addressing journalists in Lagos. They warned that failure to address these issues could lead to further industrial action and create disharmony in the state's health sector. The association's demands include the immediate implementation and payment of the allowance, payment of arrears, and settlement of salary shortfalls and promotion arrears.
