More than 500 foreign tourists are missing after severe flash floods hit the Nepal-Tibet border region. The floods began on August 26, when a surge of water, mud, and debris entered Nepal from Tibet via the Bhote Koshi River. Local authorities report over 350 deaths and more than 1,300 missing. The missing tourists include nationals from over 30 countries, including Americans, Canadians, and Britons.
