Civil society organizations have expressed support for the Nigeria Labour Congress's allegations of collusion between the Federal Government and petroleum marketers. The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria accused the government of prioritizing business interests over the hardships faced by citizens. HURIWA's National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko, stated that Nigerians are bearing the brunt of the government's disproportionate interest in oil businesses.
