AGF seeks UN’s protection, says P&ID case would have crippled Nigeria’s economy

Attorney General of the Federation Lateef Fagbemi has urged the United Nations to reform its framework to protect national sovereignty in investor-state disputes. Speaking at the Chief Legal Advisors Forum in Singapore, he noted that Nigeria's economy would have been crippled by a case from Process and Industrial Developments Limited. A UK Commercial Court nullified a $9.6 billion arbitral award against Nigeria in 2023.
