Minapharm Group, an African biopharmaceutical company, will receive up to US$16.5 million from CEPI to advance a Bundibugyo ebolavirus vaccine candidate. The vaccine is designed by ProBioGen using the MVA-CR19 platform, similar to a licensed smallpox and mpox vaccine. CEPI's funding will advance the candidate through preclinical development and into an early-stage clinical trial. This effort aims to combat the second-largest Ebola outbreak on record in the DRC.
