Eyitayo Jegede, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Ondo State in the 2016 and 2020 elections, has resigned from the party. In a letter dated August 7 and addressed to the party's chairman in Owode/Imuagun Ward 11, Akure South Local Government Area, Jegede stated that his resignation was effective immediately. The letter was obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Akure.
