Efforts are being scaled up to provide safe and dignified burials as the Ebola outbreak spreads in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The World Health Organization warns that 60% of deaths occur in communities, highlighting the need for strict burial protocols. Partners including the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the DRC Red Cross are expanding burial teams. The scale-up will add 35 mobile teams and 286 community-based teams across affected provinces.
