Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, has advised young people to start small when it comes to housing, suggesting that unmarried individuals should live with parents or relatives or share accommodation to keep housing expenses within 40% of their income. He made the remarks in response to a question about how a 22-year-old earning N100,000 monthly can afford self-contained accommodation costing about N1 million per year. Hamzat emphasized the need to save deliberately and move up as financial capacity grows.
