Ibrahim Gusau has resigned as President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), along with General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi and 11 other board members. The resignations came after weeks of public criticism over the national teams' poor performances. Gusau, who was elected in September 2022, announced his resignation at a press conference in Abuja, ending his bid for a second term. The NFF board is now expected to be replaced by a normalisation committee.
