United States Consul General in Lagos, Brandon Hudspeth, stated that the partnership between Nigeria and the United States has the potential to shape the future of America's relationship with Africa and influence global commercial, cultural, political, and economic affairs. He made these remarks at a reception welcoming him back to Lagos, expressing optimism about the bilateral relationship. Hudspeth noted that Nigerians in the US remit over $20 billion annually. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also called for more US investment and business access to American markets.
