Chargé d’Affaires: China Imported $2.3bn Nigerian Goods in Six Months

China imported nearly $2.3 billion worth of Nigerian goods in the first six months of the year, marking an almost 80 per cent increase over the same period in 2025. Total trade between the two countries surged by 75 per cent year-on-year to $18 billion. Zhou Hongyou, Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, announced this at the Nigeria-China Food Festival. He highlighted China's zero-tariff policy for African countries with diplomatic relations as an opportunity for Nigeria to expand exports.
