The Renewed Hope Initiative, led by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has disbursed N819 million to 1,638 widows of fallen military and police personnel. Each beneficiary received N500,000 to start or recapitalize a business. The disbursement included N657.5 million for 1,315 widows of military personnel and N161.5 million for 323 widows of police officers. Tinubu described the widows as women of extraordinary courage and said the intervention aims to support families of security personnel who died in the line of duty from 2023 to date.
