The Minister of State for Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Hon. Desire Muhoozi, has criticised Soroti farmers for not using the aflatoxin removal machine. This follows a statement by Bukedea County MP, Hon. David Okwere, that 80% of cereals bought by PELA commodities factory contain aflatoxin. Okwere raised concerns about the health risks to residents of Teso Sub Region, including potential cancer, and called for ministry intervention.
