American hurdler Masai Russell broke the world record in the women's 100m hurdles at the Zurich Diamond League on Thursday, clocking 12.09 seconds. This surpassed the previous record of 12.12 seconds set by Nigeria's Tobi Amusan in 2022. World Athletics described Russell's performance as a 'flawless run' over the barriers. The Olympic champion's time shaved 0.03 seconds off Amusan's record.
