Meta agreed to settle a lawsuit over allegations that Facebook and Instagram were designed to addict kids for up to $18 billion. The settlement, which is the largest a Big Tech company has paid to states, will be paid over a decade in annual installments of about $1.17 billion. The trial, which sought $200 billion, was cut short, keeping CEO Mark Zuckerberg off the witness stand. The settlement includes new restrictions on teen accounts, with some exceptions.
