Kenya's Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Dr Ouma Oluga, has reaffirmed the government's commitment to ending new HIV infections, adolescent pregnancies, and sexual and gender-based violence among young people. He spoke at a mentorship event at Mawego Technical Training Institute in Homa Bay County, presided over by First Lady Rachel Ruto. The three challenges are seen as interconnected threats to the health and future of young people, requiring coordinated action under Kenya's Universal Health Coverage agenda. Adolescents make up about 24% of Kenya's population, with 59% of Kenyans under 24.
