The Federal Government has stated that cancer patients should not be sent home when they still require hospital-based care, even if a cure is no longer possible. Dr Uchechukwu Nwokwu, National Coordinator of the National Cancer Control Plan, emphasized that patients should be referred to other facilities if necessary. He stressed that treatment should continue without interruption, even when a facility lacks capacity.
