Two people have been confirmed dead after a refuse dump collapsed on a building at Ikot Effanga along Old Odukpani Road in Calabar, Cross River State. The Cross River State Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday signed by Police Public Relations Officer ASP Sunday Eitokpah. The collapse occurred at the location, and rescue efforts were initiated. The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
