The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon. Ishaq Yunusa, was shot dead on Thursday along the Itobe-Ochadamu Expressway. The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Afusat Saliu, confirmed the incident on Friday, stating that armed men emerged from the bush and opened fire on motorists at about 5pm. Yunusa, who was driving, was found dead in his vehicle, while another occupant was abducted into the bush. The police command has intensified security operations in the area following the attack.
