President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a plan to reduce intra-state transportation costs by accelerating the adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and electric vehicles. The plan, unveiled after a meeting with state governors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, aims to ensure that savings from cheaper fuels are passed on to commuters. This initiative comes in response to high transport fares resulting from the removal of petrol subsidy. The Federal Government and state governments have agreed to take immediate steps to lower transportation costs.
