Dr. Aminu Yusuf, Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), has died after a prolonged illness. A source within the commission told Daily Trust that Yusuf died at Nizamiya Hospital in Abuja after Jummah prayers. He had fallen ill five days earlier while preparing for a trip to Rwanda and had been suffering from diabetes-related complications. Yusuf had reportedly collapsed on several occasions, including during a press briefing on March 13, when he had difficulty breathing and was resuscitated by doctors at the event.
