Hugging Face cofounder Thomas Wolf reported that preorders for the Microduck, a nearly 10-inch programmable robot duck, exceeded $2.6 million within the first 24 hours of sale. The $399 device, developed by Pollen Robotics, uses cameras, a lidar scanner, and 15 motors. The strong demand has created a backlog, marking the latest attempt by a tech company to offer a consumer-friendly robotics product.
