The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Dr Ayo Abdulrahaman as the new Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). His appointment was announced on Friday as the 2026/27 NPFL season commenced with a match between Shooting Stars and Inter Lagos FC. Abdulrahaman holds a doctorate in sports administration and brings extensive experience in football organization. The NFF's Interim General Secretary, Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, stated that the appointment followed a directive for non-NFF staff to vacate their positions.
