The Nigerian Presidency has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of making statements to deceive politically gullible citizens, following his promise to open the country's borders if elected in 2027. The Presidency, through Special Adviser Sunday Dare, said Atiku appears preoccupied with promising to reverse or rename existing initiatives rather than presenting a coherent alternative. The statement was in response to Atiku's recent declaration as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress.
