The Kebbi State Police Command said its operatives prevented an angry mob from lynching two men suspected of motorcycle theft in the Gesse Phase 1 area of Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday. The suspects, identified as Rufai Salihu and Aliyu Muhammad, were allegedly attacked by residents who accused them of stealing a motorcycle. Police rescued the injured men and took them for medical treatment, recovering a Boxer motorcycle from them. The situation escalated when mob members attempted to attack police officers.
