Gambia anti-drug agency nabs Nigerian with 90,020 ecstasy pills

A 53-year-old Nigerian, Celestine Godwin, was arrested by the Drug Law Enforcement Agency in the Gambia on August 24, 2026, for possession of 9,020 ecstasy tablets and suspected equipment for manufacturing illicit drugs. The agency also found quantities of suspected cannabis ruderalis, commonly known as skunk, in his possession. The arrest highlights the agency's efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region. Godwin is currently in custody as investigations continue.
