The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has stated that many Nigerian doctors want to remain in the country but are forced to leave due to poor working conditions, insecurity, inadequate remuneration, and limited career opportunities. NMA President Dr. Afekhide Omoti made this remark on Friday in Abuja after the association's National Executive Council meeting. He noted that some medical students begin planning to leave Nigeria even before completing their training. Omoti added that more than 50 percent of Nigerian doctors have already left the country.
