As campaigns for presidential and National Assembly elections commence, major political parties are devising strategies to target key states that would give them leverage in the 2027 presidential election. Nineteen parties are fielding candidates, but the All Progressives Congress (APC) is the first to unveil its presidential campaign council, with former Zamfara State governor Abdulaziz Yari as director-general. The initial composition of the council reveals an attempt to capture zones with the highest number of votes. Other parties are expected to follow similar patterns in their campaign structures.
