Andres Fernandez, a Miami native, left his business degree program in college to establish MintlyCollects, a company specializing in selling Pokémon cards on the live selling platform Whatnot. The company, which operates two Whatnot accounts with a combined following of about 500,000, generated $7.8 million in sales in 2025 and has become a family business. Fernandez stated that he believes one cannot 'just go with the flow' to find direction in life. His story is based on a personal account shared in an as-told-to essay.
