The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has named former Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Muhammad Nami, as its governorship candidate for the 2027 Niger State election. The announcement was made in a press statement by his campaign team on Saturday. Nami, who previously contested for the Niger South Senatorial seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC), will lead the PDP's effort to unseat the ruling party. The PDP stated that his candidacy reflects the party's commitment to competence, transparency, and people-oriented governance.
