Media office rejects ‘northern whisper campaign’ against Peter Obi

The Media Office of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has rejected what it calls a 'northern whisper campaign' against him. In a statement, the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) said falsehoods about Obi's relationship with northerners during his tenure as Anambra State governor have persisted despite denials from northern leaders in the state. POMR spokesman Idris Zekeri stated that Nigeria cannot be rebuilt by weaponising lies that have long divided its people. The office claimed to have credible intelligence of malicious campaigns against Obi in northern rural areas.
