Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has refuted claims by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar that Nigeria's land borders are closed. In a statement on Saturday, Tunji-Ojo insisted that the borders were never shut and therefore cannot be reopened. He traced the sequence of border reopenings over the years to support his position. The minister emphasized that the Nigeria Immigration Service, which he supervises, is responsible for border control and migration management.
