The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has refuted claims by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar that Nigeria's land borders were closed, stating that the borders are not closed and therefore cannot be 'reopened'. Atiku, who is the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), had mentioned plans to reopen the borders if elected in 2027. Tunji-Ojo's remarks were made in response to these claims, clarifying the current status of the borders.
