Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has criticised former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar over his promise to reopen Nigeria's land borders if elected president in 2027. Tunji-Ojo said the borders are not closed, and therefore cannot be reopened. He described Atiku's statement as misleading and lacking understanding of the current border situation. The minister's response came after Atiku made the promise during a political rally.
